Wild Turkeys...

Beautiful Creatures.

Admiring flowers and a surprise...

Here are some flowers to enjoy......

Here is what came running out of one of the flowerbeds! By the time I caught up to it, it had run accross a graveled area and into dry grass.

Not something you see every day...

I had to share this interesting pair.....on each side of this pic is something.

The more obvious subject is the doe.
On the right of the pic is an owl perched on a rock!

Sorry about the blurr, I had it on 60X zoom. It also doesn't help that the car was full of bouncing children when I took this pic.

My Favorite Pic....

I didn't take this photo, I asked my brother for a copy of this photo.  Beautiful isn't it?

Dutch Oven Cooking Adventures....

We I finally did it. I cooked my first meal using a dutch oven outdoors with charcoal briquettes. I would like to point out, this isn't a cooking blog....as you will see from my poor food pics. HAHA

I had to do it in a make-shift way because I don't have all the neat outdoor dutch oven tools...like say an outdoor dutch oven. This dutch oven is a cast iron chicken fryer that is probably 50+ years old. Grandma used to fry chicken in it. It is well seasoned and I love it for cooking inside. I have been wanting to try outdoor style meals too.....in preparation for the heat wave of summer, I am trying to find ways to keep the heat out of the kitchen for summer dinners.

What is inside the dutch oven you ask?

Elk Steak, onions, Morel Mushrooms, BBQ sauce, Worchestershire Sauce, garlic, and seasonings.

Here it is, all done ready to serve, the steak was super tender, the mushrooms were yummy and all partakers were HAPPY! I will definitely be doing more dutch oven cooking this summer.

Small Town Excitement....

A few weeks ago, we had some excitement in our small town. We had a Chinook helicopter from the National Guard land in our schools' ball fields! It was the highlight of their month! The first landing was at the high school, the second landing was the grade school. They let all the kids have a tour.

It was a fun day.....

Where we left off...Coast Trip Getaway.

Well it has been a long time since I last posted anything on this blog. I figured I should pick up where I left off. We were headed to the Oregon Coast for a getaway. Here are some pics of our trip.

We saw some fabulous sunsets......

Awe inspiring sights....

Heard the crashing of waves......and smelled the salty air.

Enjoyed critter finds......dead and alive.

In the end it made for one happy couple.....
